Egyptian cotton yarns
Giza (Giza 86, 94, Giza 87, Giza 92, Giza 96)
Egyptian cotton yarns will outperform other yarns. Its fine qualities produce the best quality yarns. Thus, it gained a high reputation in the textile industry all over the world. Egyptian cotton proved to be the world’s finest cotton.
Egyptian cotton yarns are considerably superior to regular cotton yarns. Because it grows in the rich soil of the Nile river valley. It’s long-staple (fiber length) makes it possible to make the finest compact yarns. Egyptian cotton yarns also excel at absorbing liquids. Therefore, when dyed, it gives deeper, vibrant, and more resistant colors to the fabric.
More importantly, handpicking cotton is far better than mechanical picking because it puts no stress on the fibers and leaves them straight and intact. The softness of Egyptian cotton yarns is close to the softness of silk yarns. It gets softer the more times you wash it. To sum up, Egyptian cotton yarns are the best quality yarns to produce worthwhile and long-lasting fabrics.
It might surprise you to know that all Egyptian Cotton yarns are delicately handpicked. This process puts less stress on the fiber than using large machinery. It’s the only way to guarantee that the cotton keeps its exquisite softness and incomparable strength. We think that the extra time and effort is certainly worth it to ensure you receive 100% Egyptian cotton yarns that you’ll love for years to come.
Supima Cotton
Supima cotton designates high-quality American-grown Pima cotton, an extra-long staple cotton (ELS). Supima® is a trademarked brand controlled by a non-profit organization of the same name.
Many manufacturers compare Supima cotton yarns to Egyptian cotton yarns. Therefore, Supima is one of the best quality yarns. It is a premium natural fiber.
Supima cotton grows on approximately 500 family-owned farms. Many of which are passed down from generation to generation, which maintains the same quality. Their land is their legacy. They take great care to preserve the health of the soil and conserve the water that nourishes it.
What makes Supima cotton one of the best quality yarns? The answer is simple. Supima is inherently softer and more luxurious due to its extra-long staple fiber. The length of the fiber makes for a smoother surface and produces a much softer yarn that resists pilling. In other words, your products will feel sumptuously soft and only get softer as time passes.
At MTC, we use selected materials and best quality blends to offer our customers the best quality yarns and products. We demonstrably minimize the environmental impact of our supply chains by using sustainably produced raw fibers, such as Supima cotton. Our main goal is to spin the best quality yarns for our customers worldwide.
Greek Cotton
Greece is the EU’s main cotton grower, accounting for more than 80 percent of total European production as the highest share in Europe. Cotton is a crop of high importance for Greek agricultural production, accounting for more than 8 percent of total agricultural output. Thessaly, Macedonia, Thrace, and Mainland Greece are the major cotton-producing areas. Cotton in Greece is planted from March 1 to April 15 and the crop life cycle is usually 170 to 210 days, depending on the variety and weather conditions. The harvest normally occurs from October 1 to November 30, and most of the cotton is machine harvested.

Bamboo Fiber
Bamboo fiber is a kind of regenerated cellulose fiber made from the bamboo pulp through patented technology. In recent years, different technologies are developed to allow bamboo fiber to be used for a wide range of textile and fashion applications.
It has qualities such as high tenacity and excellent stability, strong durability, and good spinnability. Bamboo fiber is a natural, green, and environmentally-friendly textile raw material.
At Mediterranean Textile Company, we blend bamboo fiber with 100% pure Egyptian cotton yarn to produce one of our best products; bamboo/cotton blend yarns.

Tencel Fiber
Tencel fiber has a natural origin because it is made from wood. However, the finished fiber is technically man-made, so it doesn’t qualify as 100% natural fiber. It consists of cellulose fiber, made from dissolving pulp and then reconstituting it by dry jet-wet spinning. Tencel lyocell fibers combine cellulosic materials with other textiles such as Egyptian cotton yarns and sometimes polyester. Blending Tencel fiber with pure Giza cotton yarns enhances the product’s properties. Tencel lyocell is stronger, more breathable, and commonly found in many bedding brands.
The benefits of Tencel fibers can be discerned instantly:
Soft to the skin, smooth to the touch, luxurious in shine and flow—they caress the senses. We blend it with pure Egyptian cotton yarns. Therefore, our unique products of lyocell/cotton blends will convince you of their exceptional capacity for thermal regulation and moisture absorption.

Modal Fiber
Internationally, modal fiber is known as a distinct viscose rayon fiber genre, which has a higher wet modulus and satisfies a minimum value of tenacity in the wet stage at 5% elongation.
Silk Fiber
Silk is undeniably one of our favorite fibers. Silk yarn is a natural protein fiber obtained from cocoons of the silkworm. Factories, cottage industries, and individuals all unravel cocoons using the same basic principles. Sorting through the cocoons and unleashing the silk produces three grades of yarn: reeled, spun, and noil. Mediterranean Textile Company spins top-quality silk fibers and blends them with high-quality Egyptian cotton yarns to guarantee the best quality yarns for our customers.
The weak filament of the transparent silken envelope remaining from the reeling process, and the damaged, discolored, or imperfectly shaped cocoons become the raw material for lustrous, creamy colored spun silk yarn. This cocoon “waste” must first have the sericin removed (degummed) with soap and water. Next, the fiber is cut into uniform lengths and carded to remove short tangled bits as well as the brown pupa inside the cocoons. Combing lays all the fibers parallel in a sliver which is spun into a shimmering yarn. Spun silk is the most familiar yarn made available to hand workers.
Silk yarns are commonly used for knitting yarns, weaving, and hand knitting yarns.
Cashmere Fiber
Cashmere wool, usually known as cashmere, is a fiber obtained from cashmere goats, pashmina goats, and other breeds of goats. It is used to make yarns, textiles, and clothing for hundreds of years. Many yarns and textiles marketed as containing cashmere have been found to contain little to no cashmere fiber, so more stringent testing has been requested to make sure items are fairly represented.
We import pure cashmere wool and blend it with other high-quality materials to finally produce the best quality yarns and products.
We blend cashmere wool with the best Egyptian cotton yarns to produce the best quality cashmere/cotton blend yarns. We blend cashmere with other high-quality materials lyocell and bamboo fibers.
Blends: Cotton/Cashmere, Lyocell/Cashmere, Bamboo/Cashmere.
Linen Fiber
Linen comes from fibers of the flax plant. To generate the longest possible fibers, flax is either hand-harvested by pulling up the entire plant, or stalks are cut very close to the root. After harvesting, the plants are dried, and then the seeds are removed through a mechanized process called “rippling”. Then we separate the woody portion of the stalks from the fibers. Next, the fibers are heckled: the short fibers are separated by ‘combing’ them away, to leave behind only the long, soft flax fibers.
After the fibers have been separated and processed, it’s our job to spin them into yarns. We produce these yarns to be further woven or knit into linen textiles. These textiles can then be bleached, dyed, printed on, or finished with several treatments or coatings.
Linen is relatively easy to take care of, since it resists dirt and stains, has no lint or pilling tendency, and can be dry-cleaned, machine-washed, or steamed. It can withstand high temperatures and has only moderate initial shrinkage. Linen yarn is laborious to manufacture, but it is absorbent and dries faster than cotton. This one-of-a-kind textile is comfortable to wear in hot weather and is valued for use in garments.
We blend linen yarns with high-quality Egyptian cotton yarns to produce the best quality yarns and blends such as linen/cotton blend yarns.
Many products can be made with linen: aprons, bags, towels (swimming, bath, beach, body, and wash towels), napkins, bed linens, tablecloths, runners, chair covers, and men’s and women’s wear.
